Cheers to my best friend/partner-in-crime/role model/idol/superhero/greatest inspiration.

I’m not a good daughter, I’ll give you that. I rebel, I’m a spoiled brat, I sulk whenever I don’t get what I want, I curse, I give the stink eye, I throw tantrums, I slam doors, I talk back, I’m lazy. I’m normal.

And my mom doesn’t deserve all that.  She’s everything you ever want in a mom. She’s the “cool mom”. My mom and dad got married at the ripe age of 22, so I have a wonderful set of parents that keeps up with the changes of our generation. They have cooler phones than I have. They both have Facebook accounts. My mom has Twitter, while I don’t. My mom blogs. Sometimes, she comes home at midnight due to parties and dinners with her friends. I’m blessed to have parents that wants to read The Hunger Games, loves The Avengers with a passion, and loves to buy me books because it means that they can buy books too.

My mom doesn’t deserve a daughter like me. I’m the complete opposite of her. Whenever we fight, she always starts with, “Nung bata ako.. hindi ako..” and it makes me feel ashamed to be her daughter, someone she’s not proud to have.

But you know what? I’ll be that daughter. The daughter with high grades, not for my sake, but to make my parents proud. Because that’s the daughter they deserve. Someone they can be proud of. 🙂

So to celebrate Mother’s Day, this is for you mommy!
